2022 Academic Expo

Course Selection & Scheduling Information for 2022-2023

Due to the possibility of inclement weather, the Academic Expo has been postponed until Feb. 9. See below for additional updates.



Melissa ISD students currently in 8th-11th grade, along with parents and guardians, are invited to attend the Melissa High School Academic Expo on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2022 from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. to gather information about classes and programs offered for the 2022-2023 school year.

Teachers will be available to present information regarding their classes and answer questions. The Academic Expo is designed to assist students and parents in making informed decisions when selecting classes for the upcoming school year.

helpful tips for the expo

  • Bring your course request form to the Academic Expo.

  • It’s important to take courses within your endorsement area(s): Business & Industry, Arts and Humanities, Public Service, STEM, and/or Multidisciplinary. Determine the courses that interest you and visit those teachers’ tables during the Academic Expo to learn more.

  • If you have questions about honors or dual credit courses, visit with the English, Math, Science, and Social Studies teachers, or the Alpha Counselors.

  • Prioritize your elective courses you wish to take, with number one being your top choice. Follow the instructions on your course request form as to how many choices to rank.

  • Course request forms can downloaded from the following pages: Incoming Freshmen | Incoming 10th-12th Grade.

  • All course request forms must be completed and submitted by Friday, Feb. 11, 2022, according to the following:

        • Current 8th Grade Students – MMS Main Office

        • Current 9th Grade Students – World Geography Teacher

        • Current 10th Grade Students – World History Teacher

        • Current 11th Grade Students – English 3 Teacher
